MISSION has joined as a co-contributor for the Web of Trust Map.

The Web of Trust Map, created by Key State Capital, visualizes the scope of the decentralized identity space, offering a comprehensive overview for researchers, regulators, investors, and those interested in the space. This tool collects and displays deep data on global decentralized identity projects, including the protocols they employ and their connections within this industry. The map illustrates key relationships, such as industry connections, funding, technology stacks, and protocols, providing crucial insights into the dynamics of this ecosystem.

With data collection beginning in September 2022 and the map launch in March 2025, the Web of Trust Map represents a substantial research effort involving a team of over 20 researchers. It collected and analyzed over 270 decentralized identity projects, 170 blockchains, and thousands of individuals and entities—over 3,000 people, 4,000 private entities, and 1,000 public entities. Recognizing the current fragmented understanding of decentralized identity technology, the map aims to consolidate information and present a holistic view of the key players and their interconnected ecosystems. By providing this comprehensive picture, the Web of Trust Map aims to bridge the knowledge gap and foster broader understanding and adoption of decentralized identity.
